Ground-breaking modernist painter Georgia O’Keeffe (1887 – 1986) is one of the most respected and acclaimed artists of the 20th century. Rejecting realism to embrace her own style, she created extraordinary, magnified images of natural forms, such as “View from the Lake I.” Highly acclaimed by her peers, she was honored with the first one-woman exhibition at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 1946.
